Lighting Channel
A single light or group of lights on the same circuit that act as one, this could be a pair of wall lights, a group of ceiling spotlights or a single pendant etc.
Lighting channels are determined by the electrical wiring, they must therefore be decided upon early in a project, and cannot be easily changed at a later date.
|
Lighting Room
A group of lighting channels chosen by the homeowner in the control software, this could be your whole house, a living room, kitchen or patio etc.
If you have an open plan space such as kitchen/diner, you can create a room for each area and then one that also covers both. The choice is up to you, and changes can be made at any time.
|
Lighting Scene
An easy to recall lighting preset for a given room, where the dimming level for each of the lighting channels has been chosen in advance to create a particular atmosphere.
Scenes can be activated though any control method, and linked with other smart home functions. For example, choosing a 'Watch Movie' option could close the blinds & dim the lights, while getting all of your media equipment ready to go. Leaving only the task of deciding what to watch.

Wireless Lighting
Wireless lighting allows for maximum flexibility with minimum fuss, is ideal for retrofitting or expanding a centralised system, and a great way to give rooms in your home a little upgrade without too much upheaval, especially if you are having other smart systems installed.
Lighting channels will be determined by your existing wiring layout, and keypads that communicate wirelessly with your smart home controllers will simply swap out with your existing switches or dimmers. There is no need to run any additional cabling and the system is totally scalable, just replace switches when & where you want to.

Centralised Lighting
A centralised lighting system gives you maximum customisation and the minimum amount of wall clutter. It is a robust & highly configurable option suited to new builds & major renovations, and can incorporate both home & garden, eliminating the need for banks of switches and giving you ultimate control of your lighting.
Lighting can be divided up into as many channels as you desire, these are wired back to central locations and controlled by banks of dimmer packs. The dimmer packs communicate directly with your smart home controllers creating a robust lighting system suitable for the largest homes and even businesses.
